Human Resources Manager

The Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function for sites assigned. This includes nurse recruiting strategy and planning, agency relationships, employee relations, employee experience in onboarding, leadership coaching, performance management, employee record keeping, HRIS, and talent analytics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for Altus personnel.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Implements and annually updates the policies and procedures; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Manage, coordinate and measure/report recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.


Travel required 20%-30% of the time in order to meet recruitment needs.








  • 5-8 years HR management experience, preferably in the health care industry
  • Leadership qualities, skills and/or experience
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of Excel and be able to create and update spreadsheets as needed.
  • Must be computer proficient in typing and various programs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with others as an effective team builder and team player.
  • Ability to take initiative, set priorities, multitasks, and organize work.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.




  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred
  • Excellent communication skills & influencing skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft, including Outlook, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to self-start and time manage projects and/or others
  • Organizational and time-management skills required
  • Personal attributes include: able to work and accomplish goals independently; ability to learn, understand, and utilize new processes quickly; flexible and adaptable to change and growth; ability to prioritize tasks in hectic or stressful situations, lead change initiatives
